So here I am going to share the adventurous one day trek experience…!!! So sandhan grog is located in Ahmednagar District, near to Samrad village which is 22km away from Shendi (bhandardara Dam- Willson Earth dam). Samrad village is 90km away from Nashik city. It is just like bike trip for us, as we were 8 member of trekking group for grog crossing. We started journey around 6:30 am (2/12/2015) from Nashik city. We had breakfast stop at Hariom dhaba on NH-3(it is famous for paranthe). After having yummy tummy breakfast we headed towards Ghoti. Then by left turn, we moved to Aurangabad highway (state highway). Moving upto 10-15 km on state highway took right turn, it’s upward having inclination about 20-25degree. Heading ahead will arrive Bari village famous for Kalsubai peak (highest peak of Maharashtra 1625m Ht above sea level). Then road leads to the Bhandardara, the ghatghar way is just before bhandardara town located turn on right hand. Its straightway exact 22 km to Samrad having one left turn.We reached Samrad by 11am, From the village itself we can see the Ratangad khuta and beside that the Ajobagad. We felt better there and got shivered because we were going to see I know it’s not too much long journey but we had small halt for photo sessions with Nature, the way is full of turning and in wavy way around Bhandardara back water. By reaching Samrad village, we took some over look around village, availability for guide. But later discussing with local person, he suggested that no need of guide unless one is interesting for rappelling. So problem was solved as no one was ready for rappel. Canyon is just half Km away from town. You can park your vehicle in village. If you have bike, you will park it near canyon (4-wheelers cannot go near canyon).Reaching valley, at the entrance itself we got the feeling of paiavasul as brother whispered. Sandhan Valley is one of the unexplored nature wonder in Sahyadri Ranges. Situated in Bhandardara dam region of the western ghat. It is also called as valley of shadow.The way of deep narrow ravine formed by two high walls of mountain. So we started walking to feel new experience.We started hiking by 12pm, we reached the broad window passage of canyon, its look like river crossing through mountain, means nothing like we expected. The thrill was ahead. As moving ahead, we were unable to think that was difficult to step ahead without thinking and looking o the path. Actually it was not path it’s rocky way for river water. It has huge rocks stepping in canyon . came across the first water cisterns of few ponds in the valley. There are 2-3 waters pools in the way. The water level changes according to season. Due to water level, the valley is not accessible in the monsoon. We were feeling chilled atmosphere inside the valley.So we easily crossed the water pool and started exploring more. And here we comes at the end of Sandhan Valley and beginning of second phase of the trek called as "Sandhan valley to karoli ghat trek" which is quite difficult and adventurous and needs the trekking equipment to go further. There are 3-4 rock patches that need the rope to descend down near to karoli ghat. The route is just like a Nalichi Vat which is one of the ways to reach Harishchandra Gad.As we were not carrying equipment, we were going to stop by there.So we took some rest there,captures some beautiful images and decided to return back.
